Weather Cancellation Policy for Boats
We strive to be fair and reasonable to our customers and we want our weather policy to be clear. We know that when you have a boat reserved, you start checking the weather forecast. A 70% chance of rain means that there is 70% chance of rain occurring at some point in time during the day. It doesn’t necessarily mean that it will rain during daytime hours.
Forecasts are so often wrong or misunderstood that we don’t take any action based on forecasts. We wait until the morning of the rental. At that point if we assess that it will rain more than 4 hours out of the 10 hour rental period (rental hours are from 8am to 6pm) then we declare a “Rain Day”. On a Rain Day, the customer can get a full refund without taking out the boat. You can also reschedule at no cost.
If we determine it will rain less than 4 hours, then it is considered a normal day and we fully expect the customer to take out the boat. If the customer cancels, then the $200 deposit is forfeited.
Cancellations more than 7 days in advance are refunded $165 of the $200 deposit.
Cancellations 7 days or less in advance will forfeit the deposit.
